Hello my name is Cédric and I am the man behind IKTUS WINGS.

The idea of IKTUS WINGS came to me whilst working for the world leader sail manufacturer Norths Sails in the UK. As a sailor I always loved the sails' fabrics, especially all the "special ones" in kevlar, spectra or carbon. I quickly started to make useful things out of sailcloth waste, people around me were really enthusiastic about my creations and this gave me the idea to transform this hobby into a business. Nearly 10 years later, IKTUS WINGS was officially born and brought to the public.

The person

The wind is what makes me wake up every morning. I am a sailor, a windsurfer and a kiteboarder, this is what most of my mind is focused on and this business keeps me in the middle of it. I have been sailing and racing on dinghies and yachts from a very young age, picking up along the way windsurfing in 2006 and kiteboarding in 2008.

I have been racing in many high level competitions such as world championships, world renown offshore races on high-tech yachts and pushed my kiteboarding skills to the limits doing stunts that most would only dream about.

This level of commitment into the sports I love helps me to understand what exactly the men and gears go through. In addition to this, my work experience as a sailmaker and shore crew allows me to deliver to my customers the highest level of quality and durability for the products and services I offer.

The skills

Between 2007 and 2015 I have accumulated the equivalent of over 3 years of full time work at Norths Sails, the worldwide leader in sailmaking, working in one of the biggest sail loft in the world. I learned and perfected my sailmaking skills in all aspects of the trade, from sticking to handwork, from spinnakers to storm jibs and from making new sails to repairing them... I have worked on sails for all kind of yachts: small cruisers to super yachts, one design racers to grand prix TP 52's or Maxi 72's, and offshore racers such as Volvo 70's and IMOCA 60's.

The experience

As a sailmaker and kiteboarder, I naturally started to repair kitesurfs from 2010, my owns and some from locals or friends. In 2014 I joined Hampshire Kitesurfing Center as an Instructor and I have also done all the kitesurf repairs for the school since. After having repaired over 60 kites I am ready to offer my services to anyone who has a broken kite. I can assure you that my repair standards are higher than most of the repairs I have seen on many kites, done by supposedly "professionals"... My sailmaker skills and experiences is a guaranty for you of the quality of my work. I am very confident on my work so every repair has a 2 years warranty.

I also started early on to make accessories for boats I have been sailing on. A few years down the line I had the amazing opportunity to work for Hugo Boss / Alex Thomson Racing for the preparation of the 2016/17 Vendée Globe. Over the course of the 10 Months before the start, I worked on and off as part of the shore team, using my skills to custom make all sorts of bags, pockets, covers, lee-cloths, beds, seats, webbing strops... I have pretty much made all of the stitched objects on the boat, apart from the sails. The team has been praising my work and kept on calling me back to do more after each testing phase. I have also done some work for Great American IV, another IMOCA 60 taking part in the Vendée Globe. It is just crazy to think that some of my products are going round the world on one of the most famous boat.

I hope you have been fully assured of my skills, my experiences and of my complete dedication to provide you with the best available services.
